Black Sky Hollow Community – Plan & Policy

1. Purpose

This community exists to create safe, inclusive, and fun spaces for queer, Black women-centered nerd meetups. Activities may include camping trips, café hangouts, game nights, creative sessions, and public chill days.

2. Membership Structure

  • The community is currently free to join while we grow.

  • This 90-day free trial is temporary; billing will begin automatically with no refunds once the trial ends. Members will receive weekly and in-person reminders. Membership charges will officially start once we reach 40 total members.

  • Membership fees support decorations, snacks, shared supplies, activity materials, and long-term community sustainability.

3. Membership Tiers & Verification

Couples Membership (2 people)

  • Strictly for two people in a verified romantic or life partnership.

  • Couples must complete and sign the membership form and schedule a video verification call before purchase.

  • Both partners must be present during verification.

  • Each partner must have a separate email/account. One email/payment method may be used to pay for the membership.

  • If verification is missed, couples have 3 chances to reschedule. Failure to complete verification after 3 attempts results in removal from membership.

  • Once paid memberships begin, verification is mandatory and no refunds will be issued for failure to verify.

Singles Membership (1 person)

  • Reserved for women of color only.

  • Must complete and sign the membership form and schedule a video verification call before purchase.

  • Membership is granted only after verification approval.

  • Missed verification can be rescheduled up to 3 times, after which membership is revoked.

  • No refunds once paid membership begins for failure to verify.

4. Use of Funds

Funds from memberships or donations will be used for:

  • Meetup decorations and supplies

  • Shared snacks/food for group activities

  • Printing flyers or signage

  • Basic camping or park setup items

  • Community improvement costs
Funds are for community sustainability, not personal profit.

5. Meetups vs. Events

  • Gatherings are community meetups, not official hosted events.

  • Meetups often occur in public parks, cafés, libraries, or campgrounds.

  • The organizer is not affiliated with or representing these locations.

6. Liability & Personal Responsibility

  • All attendees participate at their own risk.

  • Members are responsible for their safety, belongings, transportation, and behavior.

  • The community and organizer are not liable for accidents, injuries, or lost items

7. Code of Conduct
To maintain a safe and welcoming environment:

  • No harassment, hate speech, discrimination, or bullying

  • Respect identities, pronouns, and boundaries

  • No illegal activity or substance misuse at meetups

  • Obtain consent before photos or recordings

  • Anyone violating rules may be remove

8. Inclusivity & Safety

  • This is a queer-friendly, Black women-centered space that welcomes respectful allies.

  • Safety, comfort, and mutual respect are the top priority at all times.

9. Donations & Item Contributions

  • Voluntary donations or item contributions (e.g., solid-color décor, rugs, curtains, camping supplies) are appreciated but never required.

10. Changes & Updates

  • Policies, membership structure, or activity formats may evolve as the community grows.

  • Major changes will always be announced in advance to all members.
